Dodgers / Cardinals NLDS Game 2

Submitted by on October 9, 2009 – 1:04 pmNo Comment

Anybody see game 2 of the Dodgers-Cardinals series last night? Amazing how one play or lack of can change the entire outcome of a game. If Matt Holliday’s error in the 9th inning that ended up costing the Cardinals this game also turns out to cost them this series, it wouldn’t be surprising if Holliday could stand to lose a few million dollars on the bargaining table this winter when he’s a free agent.
Instead of going back home to St. Louis with the series all tied up with momentum swinging their way, the Cards now have their backs against the wall down 2-0 to the Dodgers. These first 2 games couldn’t have turned out any better for Los Angeles. With Chris Carpenter and Adam Wainwright taking the mound the first 2 games, I think the Dodgers would settled for a split.

For all the talk and highlights of the Colorado Rockies and their dramatic comeback wins during this past regular season; did you know that the Dodgers won 23 games in their final at-bat? If that’s not the definition of clutch, then I don’t know what is.
