Hunt for Red October Continues – Phillies Vs. ?

Submitted by hatclub on October 22, 2009 – 10:53 amNo Comment

Anybody think the Phillies have a potential dynasty in the making? With their lineup and the way their competition in the National League is set up currently; why not?

The Phillies will continue to defend their status as world champions after they knocked off the Dodgers 10-4 Wednesday night to win the 2009 National League Pennant. The Phils are the first defending champions to make it back to the Fall Classic since the 2001 Yankees and are also the first NL team to win consecutive pennants since the Braves did it from 1995-1996.

Former Dodger Jayson Werth, hit 2 home runs for the Phils, who for the second year in a row ended Los Angeles’ season in 5 games. The Phillies won in spite of starter Cole Hamels only lasting 4 1/3 innings.

Up next for the Phillies is the winner of the Yankees-Angels ALCS which resumes Thursday night. New York leads 3-1.  Find your New Era fitteds for the games at HatClub.com
