Air Jordan XI Space Jams Release: The Aftermath
Were any of you sneakerheads able to get your hands on a pair of the Space Jams that dropped last week?
It’s been awhile since we’ve had a Jordan release that had all the hype and madness as we did last week with the release of these shoes. Long lines were formed as early as 2 AM at your local malls that were lucky enough to be a part of this release. Online websites selling the shoes froze and crashed due to the high volume of traffic around midnight.
A lot of people underestimated the limited release of these Jordan Retro XIs and no doubt a good number of us slept on these and missed out on collecting a pair of some classic J’s.
A few of us here back at the Hat Club headquarters were able to get our own pairs of the Space Jams. On the early morning of the release date, 2 of our guys went out together to a local mall here in Tempe, Arizona at 4 AM to reach a line that was already 100 people deep. They were able to snag the last pair of size 11.5’s and 12’s from Foot Locker respectively. While another one of our guys hit the jackpot, made it after waiting for 20 minutes on a frozen webpage and was actually able to order 3 pairs online at Finish Line from the comfort of his own home and laptop. Unlike a lot of people who either had their online orders canceled or not go through completely due to the heavy traffic, he was fortunate enough to receive shipping confirmation for his entire order a few days later.
Now for those of you guys who did get a hold of these kicks; you guys plan on adding these to the collection or are you going to flip ‘em to make some extra cash? A lot of listings have been posted on eBay since the shoes dropped and some have even reached outrageous prices like this.
