Role Reversal: Suns Once Again Have Their Way vs. Lakers
An all too familiar tune is playing again in the desert as in a matter of a few days, the Phoenix Suns have changed the entire complexion of the Western Conference Finals.
In a case of déjà vu, Kobe Bryant is still dominating the opposition with his 38 points and 10 assists but the Suns ended up on top with a 115-106 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers to tie up the series at 2 games apiece.
The Suns bench, considered an advantage entering the series but had been virtually non-existent the first three games, outscored their Lakers bench by a whopping 54-20 margin.
Channing Frye took his face off the milk carton as he made four 3-pointers and scored 14 points. Leandro Barbosa also had 14 on 6-of-8 shooting and Jared Dudley chipped in 11 points. Goran Dragic ran the show at point and had eight points and eight assists in just 18 minutes.
Amare Stoudemire led Phoenix with 21 points. Steve Nash, playing with a broken nose, struggled but still put up 15 points and 8 assists.
Game 5 will be Thursday night in Los Angeles.
One trend to keep an eye though: Lakers Coach Phil Jackson is 46-0 when his team takes a 2-0 lead in a best-of-seven series.
