Meet Francisco Gutierrez, a developing hat enthusiast and proud manager of HAT CLUB Topanga.
Where did your love for hats come from?
My love for hats actually started here at HATCLUB. Before, I would just buy a 5950 Dodgers BW and call it a day but as my collection grew, so did my knowledge, which I think translated to my success here at HAT CLUB. I fell in love with the culture and I continue to learn everyday. I don’t think hats are just something to block the sun from your face, for me, each hat has its own story.
What does HATCLUB mean to you?
HATCLUB is family to me. Anyone that has been apart of the company understands it. We all look out for each other making a bond that is unbreakable. It fuels me to want to keep working harder knowing I’m working with my friends and family. #WEDOHATSBETTER
What is your favorite HATCLUB hat?
It would definitely have to be the 2TONE WHITE SOX 86 BKRDMS. I missed out on an opportunity to pick up a second one a long time ago and still regret it. I would greatly appreciate if Jon made it again and brought it back.
What influences your decision on buying a new hat?
No matter if it’s my favorite team, a color way I just have to have, or an exclusive hat. It all boils down to the fit of it, the fit is always a make or break part of the decision.
Do you usually wear a fitted, strapback, snapback?
I wear all different types of hats, 5-Panels, buckets, snapbacks, my collection is pretty vast but my go to is always a fitted, nothing fits better then a fitted hat.
What HC store do you manage and what makes your store so unique?
I manage HAT CLUB Topanga Plaza. My store is unique because it isn’t a typical mall store. Our store has more of a boutique style and our customers are the ones who would typically go to Fairfax or La Brea but don’t want to drive out so they come to us.
Anything else to say about hats?
Hats will always be an important part of the fashion industry and will always stay a consistent. There won’t be a time when some one isn’t looking for a Dodger or Yankees hat.
