Meet Josh Raney, Arizona native and manager of the largest HAT CLUB store, HAT CLUB Arizona Mills.
Where did your love for hats come from?
Growing up in Tucson, my brothers and I always wore hats to represent who we were and what we liked. I think hats are one of the best ways to express yourself non-verbally.
What does HAT CLUB mean to you?
I think HAT CLUB embodies many things. Creativity, passion, uniqueness, and culture, are just a few things that come to mind. The uniqueness of HAT CLUB, and exclusive products are the reason HAT CLUB has turned from a small business into a hat store second-to-none.
What is your favorite HAT CLUB hat?
For a guy like me there cannot be one favorite hat, but if I had to pick a few I would say, the Arizona Wildcats custom 5950 gray/ice blue, the Mitchell & Ness Chicago Bulls snap back black/red, and the Crooks & Castles strapback black/python. I don’t always wear hats, but when I do, you know it has to be a HAT CLUB hat.
What influences your decision on buying a new hat?
When I buy a hat I am influenced by the overall look of the hat, the material it is made out of, the quality of craftsmanship put into making the hat, and most importantly, how it fits.
Do you usually wear a fitted, strapback, snapback?
I wear all three honestly. It depends on how I feel, what kicks I am rocking, or what season it is. I love the limited edition hats that you can only find at HAT CLUB.
What HC store do you manage and what makes your store so unique?
I manage the flagship store at the Arizona Mills. The store is unique because it is our largest store, in terms of size and volume. We have the best selection in the company and have an inventory of over 10,000 hats.
Anything else to say about hats?
Yes, hats are the hottest accessory -period. Sneakers always run the game, but it is the hat that defines the individual.
